This was a lot bigger than I had expected.  I don’t know where I got the assumption it wasn’t gigantic.   You can see it several miles out from the freeway!

…I really liked this shot.

Grand Canyon 2

Here’s another one.  Enjoy!

Grand Canyon

Grandcanyon-2

This is a shot from my first time visiting the Grand Canyon.  I’ve heard people say that it isn’t what they expect when they see it, and describe it as “just a big hole” in the ground.  If you ever have a chance, I recommend you take it.  It’s a crazy piece of natural beauty!  We live in a wonderful place.  Lets appreciate every little thing.

La Jolla: Family Portrait

Finally, an update.  This is one shot from a series I took from my first family portrait back in November.

Google acquires Nik software.

The creators of my favorite mobile editing app and an awesome editing suite, Nik software, was recently acquired by Google.
What are their plans? Will they bring a instagram-esque mobile app to google+? Perhaps, it’s google’s way of trying to make users active on Google+ and gaining new users in the process.

In a way, I really hope so. Google+ already uses Picasa and it’s favored by some photographers for its way of displaying images in a digital portfolio style.  Nik software states,

We’ve always aspired to share our passion for photography with everyone, and with Google’s support we hope to be able to help many millions more people create awesome pictures.

Nowadays, cameras and software are cheaper and they are more accessible to an everyday person.  As if some photographers didn’t hate the instagram photographers already. I say, embrace it and use it as an advantage.
